Since the AI declares war all the time, there is always a high chance that your caravans are in the middle of enemy territory and they cannot get out and it happens most of the time, it seems the AI declares war on you because they have your caravans nearby. A workshop's success depends on the local economy. It needs (1) a steady supply of cheap raw materials and (2) a demand for the produced goods. Tip: Seek the vicinity of villages that produce the required raw materials. Tip: Avoid the vicinity of other workshops of the same type. Buy cheap mules and horses, and recruit troops to carry your goods, don’t upgrade them though, you have to spend money to make money but a 1$ per day troop can carry as much as a a 20$ troop. As soon as the ball gets rolling you’ll literally pillage the entire kingdom, buy everything’s that’s under an average price and sell everything Nerfing the revenue for caravans is fine, makes lords not make tons of cash just by having caravans basically untouched. However, as the player, having to spend 18k every 2 days because your caravan got captured by looters or a small party of enemies (because the AI decided that going across enemy territory is a great idea in wartime), means that not only you are losing money by repeatedly Your caravans first have to visit a couple of towns before they make profit. Wait a couple of days. Same with workshops I waited very long and I earn now much money with my caravan. Will a workshop increase too in profit? I had a smith workshop with an iron producing village nearby. It made between 100 - 200 gold. Though weirdly, Trade isn't the skill you should focus on for the companion, but rather high Scouting and Riding, anything to increase movement speed or sight radius, so that they can survive a bit longer. Trade will gradually increase by itself. #1. Oberst Klink Jan 20, 2022 @ 3:08pm. In my opinion, the best way to make money, is as a smith. Im having this problem on my second run i had 5 caravans and 2 of them immediately got destroyed currently i have 3 running and they are losing money instead of making, one thing that i did in my last run and got 2 k per day was, i joined the strongest factions and made tons of money through caravans now im not in a faction im just wondering I currently have 2 million Denars. I started trading horses to get the money to buy my first and rolled it into 4 workshops. Now I have 4 workshops, 6 caravans, and I smith on the side. I make enough money to not have to worry about it- and now raising huge armies to start the conquest. That was my path- worked out pretty well as far as I can see .
